Serving Glass: Collins glass.
Garnishes: Lemon hairs and dehydrated lemon wheel.

Recipe:
1.50 oz / 45 mL vodka
0.25 oz / 10 mL apricot liqueur
0.25 oz / 10 mL cherry liqueur
0.50 oz / 15 mL freshly squeezed lemon juice
0.50 oz / 15 mL unsweetened natural cranberry juice
0.50 oz / 15 mL Simple Syrup (1:1)
1 dash of Bittered Sling Kensington Aromatic bitters
1 dash of Bittered Sling Lem-Marrakech bitters

How to prepare:
Crush ice ahead of time and leave in your freezer in a lewis bag. Combine all ingredients into a collins glass. Slowly add your crushed ice into your collins glass. Using a swizzle stick or spoon, combine your ingredients. Add enough crushed ice so that there is a large dome over top of the glass. Garnish with lemon hairs and dehydrated lemon wheels if your glass allows.

PRO TIP: Use a julep strainer and napkin to help you achieve a perfect dome with crushed ice.

Flavour Profile: Tart / baking spice / refreshing

Comment on the Cocktail: This is a delicious variation on a Cosmopolitan with more warm spices incorporated into the drink.

Inspiration: The cocktail takes inspiration from the spice trade boom when new exotic spices like cinnamon, clove and nutmeg started to become commonplace. The cocktail is a variation on a Cosmopolitan with more warm winter spices incorporated into the cocktail. The unsweetened cranberry & lemon combination is so tart that it needs the sweetness from the apricot and cherry liqueur for balance. The Kensington Aromatic and Lem-Marrakech bitters bring a lot of these fall spices – cloves, cinnamon, gentian, cardamom, allspice and licorice that brings balance and spice.

Batching / group party tips: This cocktail is easy to batch. Because you are serving it on crushed ice, we don’t need to dilute the cocktail. Once you batch it, place in your fridge until cool. Make sure you label how much each serve is on the bottle, so that guests can help themselves.

The bitters work well because of the amazing spice it brings to the drink. Think of Kensington as your spice cabinet but in bitters form. On its own, the spices are so beautiful and strong. Placed in a drink, they complement all the flavours and bring a bold flavour to match any cocktail that will surely wow your guests.
