Inspiration, where does this cocktail come from?
Two classic cocktails come together to make a modern classic. Both the Negroni and the Flip have been around for ages. Combining them sends our taste buds to the next level. When I was working at UVA, we always had guests coming in asking us to surprise them with fun things we were working on. It was always so great because we were able to try out recipes, flavours and combinations on so many different people to see what worked and what didn’t. This cocktail was always a smash hit, especially over the holidays. Be careful, it can be dangerous as it goes down oh so smooth.
Group party tips / Batching: I would make these to order for your guests as they arrive! Or it is a delicious option in place of dessert for those who prefer a liquid offering.
The bitters work well because we are combining two amazing flavours – coffee and the uniqueness of a Negroni. Campari and coffee are such a perfect combination!
