Cocktail: Westphalia

Cocktail: Westphalia

The Peace of Westphalia was a series of treaties signed to end the Thirty Year’s War in 1648 in Münster, Germany. Westphalia is also a region in Germany that covers a vast area, of which Wolfenbüttel is included. We can draw a similarity to the life of Jagermeister – a spirit that has been involved in a war to present the world with its authentic story – but it’s drowned out by the sound of energy drink cans smashing against the bar top. I crave to put Jagermeister’s authenticity back into the cocktails of discerning drinkers.

Ingredients:

1.50 oz Tanqueray 10 Gin
0.75 oz Cocchi Vermouth di Torino
0.50 oz Jagermeister
1 dash Bittered Sling Lem-Marrakech Bitters

Method:

Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Spin gently for about 20 rotations, and pour neat into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon peel, whose oils have been sprayed over the top of the cocktail.
